Finding a blender that will hold up to consistent, everyday use--without fail has been difficult. Nothing seems to be made to last anymore. Things seem to last only a few months-- to a year at best before requiring replacement. I bought this Oster, to replace a Black and Decker blender that was shoddy, poor quality and only lasted 5 months! This machine has a motor strong enough to crush the frozen fruit that I use daily, without leaving chunks behind. It is loud, but I couldn't care less as long as it gets the job done. It does take awhile for all of the fruit to blend though, and sometimes I have to stop the machine and stir before re-starting. That can be annoying. While it's not my ideal choice, it is the more than adequate, and if you don't need to use it day in and day out like I do--you should be very happy with it.Oh and FYI If you're making smoothies, keep all of the fruit frozen--I even peel and...
